What grade levels can apply for the Nash Everywhere Digital Academy (NEDA)?

  • Rising 2nd through 12th graders can apply for NEDA.

Are NEDA students eligible to play sports?

  • Middle School students in NEDA are eligible to play sports at the school they would attend based on their address

  • High School students in NEDA are still enrolled in their home high school so they are eligible to play sports at their school

What is the commitment requirement for NEDA?

  • 2nd through 8th grade students are committing to a full school year and 9th through 12th grade students are committing to at least one semester.

Will NEDA students be required to come on campus for any reason?

  • NEDA students will be required to come to campus for all state mandated tests and to pick up any materials that will be needed for instruction while the students are working at home.

Can parents schedule conferences with NEDA teachers?

  • For 2nd - 8th grade students, the teachers work from one location and can schedule virtual of face to face conferences.  For 9th - 12th grade students, their teachers are online and can be contacted either through phone, email, or virtual conference.

Why are Early College High School and CITI High School students not eligible for the Nash Everywhere Digital Academy (NEDA)?

  • The courses that these students take through Nash Community College are not available to students online.

How will high school students with IEPs receive their services through EdOptions Academy?

  • IEPs are uploaded to the EdOptions Academy, and there are Exceptional Children teachers employed with EdOptions Academy who ensure that these students will receive their appropriate services from the teachers who teach their courses.

Will there be attendance taken for NEDA?

  • Students in K-8 and OCS/ECS will be expected to attend daily online instruction to be counted present for the day.  Teachers will consider technical issues and reasonable interruptions that may occur.

  • High school students will be expected to sign into a Google Form daily to be counted present for the day.

What are the expectations for families for NEDA?

  • Communicate regularly with your student's teachers

  • Check email, parent LMS accounts, and PowerSchool regularly to keep up with grades and announcements

  • Maintain reliable internet connection

  • Ensure all devices are available and charged each day for instruction

  • Provide assistance when needed
