My birthday is just around the corner. I am a wife and mom of 5. I enjoy pretty much anything that involves traveling and creativity. I like “window shopping” while drinking anything non-coffee flavored from Starbucks!  I graduated from East Carolina University. Go, Pirates! This will be my 14th year teaching.

Hello! My name is Shadia Freeman-Beale and I teach Math. I enjoy spending time with my family and shopping! I graduated from North Carolina A&T State University. This is my fourth year teaching overall, and my third year teaching with NEDA. With a passion for education and a commitment to your success, I am here to guide, support, and inspire you every step of the way. I look forward to an awesome school year!

I'm a native of Rocky Mount and have been teaching in the Nash County area for 21 years.  I've taught 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades including all subjects.  I also spent several years as an Instructional Coach for the district.  I'm now exploring a new venture as a virtual teacher for NEDA.  It's an exciting journey, one that I look forward to exploring with all of my students, families, and friends.

Hello! My name is Ambriel Burgess. I am 24 years old and from Rocky Mount, North Carolina. I graduated from East Carolina University in May of 2021 with a degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in reading. This is my third year teaching at NEDA. I am an animal lover, I have 7 dogs, 1 cat, 2 horses, and a pony. When I'm not working I try to spend my free time drag racing with my dad. My mom, Debby Burgess, is also a 2nd-grade teacher here at NEDA. She began her 34rd year of teaching this year. I can't wait for another great year!
