Ms. Malissa Lyons
Hi! I'm Malissa Lyons and I'm a Science teacher here at NEDA. I graduated as a NC Teaching Fellow from ECU and have taught for 24 years. I am certified in Middle School Language Arts, Science, and as a Reading Specialist but Science is my favorite and holds a special place in my heart. I've had the privilege to become a graduate of Educator's Space Camp in Huntsville, Alabama as well as a National Teacher Advisor for Scholastic Science World Magazine as well. I'm so excited to work with you and your child this year!

Mrs. Suzanne Phillips
Originally from Ordinary, VA, Suzanne has spent the last 15 years in North Carolina. She is a proud wife and mother of two, and in her free time, she enjoys reading—averaging about 40 books a year just for fun. With 15 years of experience in education, Suzanne has taught grades 9-12 and has a passion for Yearbook and Journalism.
Beyond the classroom, Suzanne is an animal lover with 13 chickens, each with its own name, and she enjoys caring for them. As a child, she was an avid bowler. Fun fact: Suzanne is not a fan of bacon.
