Parents, EOG Testing will begin on May 17. We can use some volunteers to proctor the tests. You must be on the district's approved volunteer list, and you must attend a 1 hour training at the school on May 9. You may choose either 8:00 AM or 3:30 PM. Please contact Mr. Snowden if you can help.

Good Evening Bulldogs! I hope each and every one of you have enjoyed this beautiful weekend! Thank you to everyone who came out for our Transition Night this past Tuesday. I hope you received some valuable information and resources that you can utilize over the summer. This upcoming week is Teacher Appreciation Week. Our Amazing PTO sent out a link (https://bit.ly/3UtdpSm) a few days back. The link had a spreadsheet with just about every staff member's Amazon wish list. The PTO did ask the staff to put personal items on the list and not just school supplies. This is completely optional, but please know the link is available on our website too if you would like to glance over it. (https://bit.ly/3UtdpSm). I am blessed to work with such a fabulous group of individuals! Tomorrow night we have our last PTO meeting of the year. We would absolutely LOVE to have a library full. We will wrap up this school year and vote for officers for next school year. The library will open at 5:30 and we will start promptly at 5:45pm. This Tuesday our EOY assessments open for our K-3 students and it is also our Kindergarten registration day. We will have Kindergarten registration at Coopers from 9-12am and then again from 3-6pm. All registration is completed online. If you need assistance uploading documents, feel free to stop by Tuesday and someone will be happy to assist you. This Wednesday is School Nurse day. Thank you Nurse Unrue for your bandaids, bags of ice, temperature checks, and for helping our sweet little ones feel better on a daily basis. Your office is a revolving door and we appreciate you. Last but not least, our pre-K graduation is this Friday from 9-11 in the gym and our 5th grade EOY Pep Rally at Miracle Park is also set for this Friday. Please check our website for more details.

Good Evening Bulldogs, As I mentioned in yesterday’s message, the end of the school year is drawing near. With this, the technology department is having to conduct an inventory of all student devices. If your child take their devices home between now and the end of the year, please make sure they are returning them daily to the school along with their chargers. Students will be receiving an invoice if they have a missing charger or damage to their device. Thank you for your understanding and assistance! If you have a child in kindergarten through 4th grade, we look forward to seeing you tomorrow evening for transition night. If you know of any rising Kindergarten students, please spread the word. Good Evening Bulldogs! Thank you to everyone who came out and joined us for an amazing BINGO night this past Friday. A huge shout out to Mrs. Lane and Mrs. Lorie for being the energetic hosts that they were. Thank you to all of our community members and sponsors that donated items and made this night possible. The money that was made at BINGO night will go towards our PBIS fund for our students. This week brings on the month of May, which means we are in our last month of school. WOW! This semester is flying by! Here is a list of upcoming events. Please remember you can find these on our school’s website under Students CES calendar. • Tomorrow our fifth graders take their EOY Science NC Check-in • Tuesday is transition night. Transition night is designed for families to get a jump start on how to prepare your child for the next grade level. You will learn about your child’s expectations, priority standards being taught, assessments given, and grading for next year (based on your child's upcoming grade level). The rotation times are 5:00-5:30, 5:45-6:15, and 6:30-7:00 so you can meet with more than one grade level if needed. • This Wednesday is early release. Our staff will be receiving their EOG training. • This Friday is School Lunch Hero Day. Thank you to our amazing cafeteria staff for all that they do. They put smiles on our students’ faces first thing in the morning and at lunch. It is nothing to walk in the cafeteria and hear the café staff barking like bulldogs, making the kids laugh. Thank you ladies! • Monday May 6th is our last PTO meeting for the year. We would love to have a library full. We will begin at 5:30. • May 6th through the 10th is teacher appreciation week. The PTO sent out a link to each staff member’s amazon wish list. This is completely optional! If you would like to purchase your child’s teachers something from their list, I know they would greatly appreciate it. • Our K-3 students will take their EOY mClass assessment May 7-15th. • May 7th is Kindergarten registration day at Coopers from 9-12 and 3-6pm. Registration is all online. IF you need help uploading documents, please feel free to come out to Coopers on the 7th and we will help you upload the documents. If you can not come on the 7th, feel free to drop by any day during school hours to drop off supporting documents for your child to be enrolled at Coopers next year for Kindergarten. We have a lot going on these last few weeks of school. Please remind your child or children that they must still follow the school rules and keep their hands to themselves on the playground and around the school. This past week, we had a lot of students start to get that summer feeling. It is getting warm outside and some students are beginning to get too playful and too rough. Good Evening Bulldogs! Happy Sunday! I hope you were able to get out and enjoy yesterday’s beautiful weather. Thank you to everyone who came out to our Bulldog Bash this past Friday. The weather was perfect. It seemed like the students had a great time and that is what it is all about! Progress reports go home this week. This Wednesday is Secretary’s day. We want give a huge shout out to Mrs. G, Mrs. Lorie, and Ms. Dionne in our front office for being amazing! Thank you ladies for all that you do for our students, staff, and families. This Friday is BINGO night! If you bought tickets, we are looking forward to a fun filled night with a lot of good laughs with family and friends. We are sold out. We will not have any tickets for sale at the door. If you bought tickets, you will get a confirmation letter this week with all the important details. Next Tuesday, April 30th, we will have our transition night. We will have 3 different rotation times, so parents can meet with up to 3 different grade levels that night if needed. The rotation times will be 5:00-5:30, 5:45-6:15, and 6:30-7:00. Parents, you can drop your Cooper’s kids off in the gym so they can have some fun while you attend the rotation(s). If you have little ones who are not in school yet, we ask that you take them with you during the rotations. Good Evening Bulldogs! Tomorrow is Bulldog Bash and one of the best days of the year for most kiddos. Tomorrow we will have relay races, bubbles, a foam party, and icees for the students. We ask that students wear tennis shoes for the relay races. We ask that students bring an extra set of clothing and shoes for the foam party. The students will not get soaking wet, but their feet will. We ask that students either wear water shoes, tennis shoes, or shoes that has a back to them for the foam party. Please do not have students wear flip flops. They will lose their flip flops in the foam and they will be on pavement, not the grass, so it will not be comfortable if they lose a shoe with all the little pebbles out there. We will have a concession stand tomorrow, so students can bring money. It will be cash only. Teachers have sent out via the NCPS app the schedule for tomorrow. Pre-K, Kindergarten, first, and second grade will have relays in the morning and the upper grades will have relays starting after lunch. All students will go outside at 8:30am to start their first event. Parents, you do not need to sign in at the front office. You can report straight to the field area. Students will also sign-out to go home through their homeroom teacher and not the front office tomorrow. Bulldogs, get some rest tonight and let's get ready to have a fun day tomorrow.

Good Evening Bulldogs, It is crazy to think that this week is our Bulldog Bash on Friday and we only have 7 more weeks of school! This Tuesday night, from 6-6:45pm, we will have a General PTO meeting in the media center. We are inviting all of our parents to this meeting, as we are in need of closing out this year and starting to prepare for next school year and adding new members to our already fabulous team. This Wednesday is early release. Our students will be getting out of school at 1:00pm. Please make sure you are at their bus stop 2 hours earlier than normal. This past Friday was wear blue in support and observance of National Autism and Child Abuse month. This upcoming Thursday, we are asking for students to wear red in honor of ACCEPTING individuals with autism. We have a very diverse school and we want to teach our students to accept others and to treat everyone the way you want to be treated. We are all unique and we respect each other’s similarities and differences. This Thursday I will be wearing red and I hope to see everyone else in red as well. This Friday is our Bulldog Bash, also known as field day. Your child’s teacher will be sending out his/her grade level’s schedule for the Bulldog Bash. Students are asked to bring an extra set of clothes and shoes. We will be having a foam machine, so students will need to wear tennis shoes or water shoes for this event. We ask that students do NOT wear their bathing suits or flip flops, but instead wear shorts/jogging pants/t-shirts (not white) or any other school appropriate clothing. Students will need to wear (dry) tennis shoes for their relay races. Good Afternoon Bulldogs, Tomorrow ALL students will take their Spring pictures. Parents, you should have received a paper with your child's individual code allowing you to view their pictures by the end of the week to see whether or not you would like to purchase them. You pay for them online. NC Check-ins for our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders are scheduled for Thursday and Friday of this week. Please make sure your child is at school and on time these two days. Good Evening Bulldogs! I hope everyone has enjoyed their Spring Break! I hope you spent time with family and making memories. This week, we will celebrate Assistant Principal’s week. We want to say thank you to Mr. Snowden and Mrs. Turner, our administrative intern, for all of their hard work and dedication to our students and staff! We appreciate both of you!! This Tuesday is individual spring picture day for students. They are pre-pay. If you need more information, please ask your child’s teacher or call the front office. This week we will also be celebrating Autism Awareness month and Child Abuse Month by wearing blue this Friday. We would love for everyone to participate and students will also get a blue treat on Friday. We hope everyone has next Friday, April 19th marked on your calendar for our Bulldog Bash, also known as field day. This is pretty much an all-day event. More information is forthcoming. Lastly, we hope you have BINGO night down on your calendar for April 26th and Transition night on April 30th. For transition night, parents will be able to meet the teachers of the next grade level and find out their expectations and the kid’s main learning objectives for that grade level.
