One of our favorite events of the year is returning to Coopers Elementary in just a few short days! Join us for our famous PBIS Trunk or Treat celebration and help us celebrate positive behavior in SPOOKY style!
This event is scheduled for Thursday, October 31 beginning at 1:00 on the front lawn of our school. In order for this event to be a success, we need your help!
We’re looking for volunteers to decorate their trunks and join the fun! At the event, each trunk will "pose" for a picture. Our students will vote on the BEST decorated trunk at the event. The winner of this contest will $25.00 Amazon Gift Card! Get those trunks decorated!
Can't attend? You can still help by donating bags of individually wrapped candy to the front office of the school.

Good Evening Bulldogs. Another wonderful week has come and gone.
Bulldog families, this is a friendly reminder that our Candy Man fundraiser is coming to an end soon! All student paper packets and online orders are due by Monday, October 21. We truly appreciate your support in making this fundraiser a success, and we’re so grateful for all the hard work and participation from our students and families. Your contributions help make a positive difference for our school!
Thank you again for your ongoing support, and let’s finish strong! And, if you need a good laugh this weekend, please check out the two promotional videos that Mrs. Lane and Champ (the Bulldog) filmed this week. You don't want to miss what those two have been up to!
This Thursday is early release and this Friday is a mandatory teacher workday. Students will be released from school at 1:00pm on Wednesday and they will not come to school on Friday.
It has been shared with our 4th and 5th grade students that if they would like to audition to be a part of our morning news crew, their letters of interest are due to Mrs. Land by this Thursday, October the 24th. Interviews for the various positions will be on the 30th. More information can be found on the ROOMS app.
This Wednesday, our Kindergarten students will be walking over to the Fire Station for their first field trip. Parents, please make sure you have signed and returned your child’s permission slip if you have not already done so.
Last but not least, parents please make sure you are continuing to check our online calendar for upcoming events on our school website. Next Friday, November 1st we will have our first awards day. As a school, we have decided to have an awards day at the end of each 9 weeks, instead of one large one at the end of the year. We want to celebrate students and their accomplishments throughout the year. We will send home slips with students if they are receiving an award in case parents or family members would like to join us. All students will not necessarily get an award each 9 weeks.
Thank you all again for your continued support and I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Good Evening Bulldogs,
I hope everyone has enjoyed this beautiful weekend! I want to start off by giving a huge shout out to all of our students, parents, staff, and volunteers for helping us out at the school yesterday for beautification day. We had a great turn out and the end result looks amazing! Thank you, thank you, thank you for helping to make Coopers look great again!~
Also, thank you to everyone who helped and contributed to our school record book fair last week. To say that it was a success is an understatement. I think the bookfair raised over $10,000. Thank you again to everyone who helped, whether purchasing or volunteering.
Candyman- Our Candyman fundraiser is still going on. This is the last week of the sales. Candyman orders are due next Monday, the 21st. We would love to have all of our students be able to attend the Candyman main event in November.
This Tuesday is our PTO’s general membership meeting. The doors will open at 5:30 and the meeting will begin at 5:45pm. The meeting will be in our library. We would love to see everyone here for this event and for everyone to see what is happening at Coopers!
This upcoming week is also our Pink Campaign to support the UNC Health Nash Foundation, being led by our ACE club students. Tomorrow, Monday Oct. 14th, we ask that all students and staff wear Pink in honor of breast cancer month. Please let this be a reminder that we all need to take our health serious and complete the proper and routine screenings. Our ACE students will also be selling blow pops for $1 Wednesday through Friday of this week to raise money for their selected organization. This Friday is also hat day. Students can wear a hat for $1 and that money will also go to the ACE club and their supported foundation.
This Wednesday is Unity Day. Everyone is asked to wear orange in support of no bullying. We want our school, community, and world to be a bully free environment.
Last but not least, this week we will have a Boy Scout leader on campus explaining to students, both boys and girls, what it takes to become a member of a boy scout or girl scout troop. Parents, you are invited to come out to the school this Thursday from 5-6pm in the library to get more information and/or sign your child up with a local troop.
Thank you and I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!~ Take care.

Good Evening Bulldogs,
This week is our Fall book fair. I remember as a student many moons ago, that I loved going in there and buying books and the smelly pencils. We would also like invite our parents and grandparents to volunteer in our book fair if you are willing and able. You can sign up online or just come on in.
This week due to the bookfair being in the library, we ask that all of our K-5 students report straight to the cafeteria if they arrive to school before 7:40am.
This week on Tuesday we have our Fall Individual pictures. ALL students will take a picture and this will be the picture that is used for our school’s yearbook.
Next Saturday, the 12th, is our beautification day from 9am-12pm. We would LOVE to have all our students and parents who are willing and able to come out and help. We want to have Coopers’ lawn looking the best in the district. There is a sign up for this as well on our website.
Thank you to all of our students, staff, and family members for selling the Bulldog raffle tickets. Today we went Facebook live around 2:15pm and announced all of our winners. We sold enough tickets to put our money with what the district had allotted us, to get new playground equipment, either at the end of this year or over the summer. I am not sure exactly how long it will take for the equipment to be ordered, delivered, and installed. This is exciting! Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen!
Last but certainly not least, our Candyman kickoff was this morning in the gym for all of our students. The Candyman information will be coming home with students on Monday if it did not go home with them today. This is the PTO’s first fundraiser of the year.
Please check out our website for upcoming events. The rest of this month is very busy, with dress up days and events. To stay up to date, please check out the school’s calendar on our website under “students”.

Mark your calendars, grab your costumes, and head to the Coopers Fire Department for an evening of Trunk or Treat FUN on Thursday, October 31!
From 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, join us for: tons of candy, spooky tunes, food trucks, and a chance to explore the fire trucks. This is going to be a night of halloween fun for the whole family!
🍬🎃👻 See you there, bulldogs! 👻🎃🍬

Our Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) team is excited to host a Hat Day fundraiser tomorrow, Friday, October 4! For just $1.00, students can wear their favorite hat to school and show off their unique style!
All money raised will go towards our positive behavior celebrations and incentives, helping us recognize and reward positive behavior throughout the school year. We have some exciting events planned to reward our students and every dollar counts towards making them happen. Let’s make this a fun day while supporting a great cause!
Bulldogs, don’t forget your dollar and your hat tomorrow!
