Good Afternoon Bulldogs,
Due to inclement weather, NCPS will have a remote learning day tomorrow, January 23rd. Students will receive their remote learning activities through ROOMS and are expected to complete them and return them to school upon their return.
We anticipate returning to school on Friday, which will operate on a 2-hour delay. Students will have up to 4 days to submit their remote learning assignments. Failure to submit the assignments within this timeframe will result in an absence for tomorrow.
A copy of the teacher's office hours for tomorrow has been uploaded. CES staff will be available for contact between 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM. However, staff will respond most promptly during their designated office hours. Please reach out via a ROOMS message or email.
I hope everyone is enjoying the snow and stays safe!

Thursday, January 23, 2025 will be a Remote Learning Day for all of Nash County Public Schools (NCPS). Remote learning assignments may be accessed through Canvas, Google Classroom or other communication from your child’s teachers or principal. Office hours will also be offered by teachers if permissible. Please look for detailed information in Rooms and/or your student’s learning management system.
NCPS has procedures in place to ensure students are not negatively affected if they are unable to complete tasks due to a lack of technology, power, or other challenges. If you have any questions, please contact your student’s teacher(s).
Friday, January 24, 2025: All NCPS schools will operate on a two-hour delay due to the potential for icy road conditions. Breakfast will be available at schools. Students may be dropped off 40 minutes prior to the start of their school day. Essential personnel should report at their regular time, provided it is safe to do so.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we prioritize the safety and success of our students.

Good Evening Bulldogs,
Our second 9-weeks Awards Day program, originally scheduled for this Friday, has been postponed due to the possible school delay. The celebration will now take place next Friday, January 31st. The schedule for all grade levels will remain the same as stated on the invitations. If you have any additional questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the school.

We hope our bulldog families have been enjoying the beautiful snow! While it’s been fun to see our community blanketed in white, the snow has had a major impact on local Red Cross blood drives. In Greenville and Nash County alone, the cancellations have resulted in the loss of 150 units of blood, enough to affect up to 450 lives!
You can help make a difference by donating at our upcoming Red Cross Blood Drive on Friday, February 28, from 8:30 to 2:30 in the Coopers Elementary School gym.
Let’s show the strength of our bulldog community and come together to save lives! Click the link to schedule your donation appointment today: bit.ly/49o8JmT

Good Evening Bulldogs!
It is a great day to be a bulldog. Tomorrow, Monday January 20th is a holiday and Tuesday and Wednesday are teacher workdays, therefore, students will not return to school until Thursday.
This is a reminder that on Friday, we will be hosting our second awards day. Teachers have already sent home slips with those students who will be receiving awards for this 9 past weeks. Students will also receive their report cards this Friday.
Please remember that we keep a calendar on our school website of all upcoming events, scheduled from now until the end of the year, so feel free to check that out at any time.
I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe week. Take care and try to stay warm.

Good Evening Bulldogs!
Even though I love my job and the people I work with, I was still hoping for snow! Since there is no snow, students will report to school tomorrow at normal time. Students will report to school Monday through Thursday of this week. Due to high school exams, Martin Luther King holiday, and switching to second semester, students will be out of school Friday through Wednesday of next week. Students will return to school Thursday, January 23rd.

All exams will continue as planned.
All after-school activities and events are canceled due to the weather forecast. This decision, made with guidance from emergency officials, prioritizes the safety of our students, staff, and school communities.

Due to the forecast of below-freezing conditions and the potential for today’s precipitation to freeze on roadways, Nash County Public Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay for staff and students on Tuesday, January 7, 2025. Essential personnel should report at their regular time, provided it is safe to do so.
Breakfast will be available at schools. Students may be dropped off 40 minutes prior to the start of their school day.

Good Evening Bulldogs and Happy New Year!
I hope everyone has had a wonderful holiday season! Students will return to school tomorrow, and we’re excited to welcome them back. Parents, please be sure to check the district’s calendar as this month includes several teacher workdays when students will not be in school.
This Friday is our monthly PBIS Hat Day! Students can wear a hat with a $1 donation, which helps fund our PBIS celebrations and incentives.
Please note that the grading period ends on January 16th, and teacher workdays will follow from January 17th through the 22nd.
Report cards will be issued on January 24th, and that will also be our next scheduled awards day. Teachers will be sending home notes with students who will be receiving an award on this day.
As we enter the January/February mid-year period, administration is requiring all staff to reach out to parents to schedule a meeting to discuss your child’s academic progress. Please keep an eye out for further details from your child’s teacher.
Last but not least, if your child is a car rider, we will be having our Fast Pass tickets available starting Monday afternoon with a $1 donation per ticket to the school. We will draw out 5 winners this upcoming Friday after school. Fast pass winners will not have to sit in line, their child will be brought out to their cars at 3:00pm.
Thank you for your continued support! It is a great time to be a Bulldog.

Good morning bulldog families!
As we approach the holiday season, I kindly ask for your help in ensuring all library books are returned before Christmas break so that we can prepare for the new year!
Please check with your child to see if they have any library books at home, and remind them to bring them back to school.
Thank you for your support in keeping our library stocked and ready for learning!

Good Evening Bulldogs,
WOW! Just one more week, 5 school days left in the 2024 calendar school year. I can not believe it. This year is zooming by!
Unfortunately, I was unable to attend the first and second-grade performances last week, but I’ve heard wonderful things about how amazing they were. I’m incredibly proud of our students and staff for their hard work and the bravery they showed by performing in front of such a large audience.
Tomorrow night, from 5:30pm to 7:00pm, Mrs. Beasley will be presenting to our Spanish speaking parents in the library on data, assessments, and how to utilize ROOMS with fidelity. We will have pizza for our families who attend. Again, this is for our Spanish speaking families only.
This Thursday, our fifth graders who participated in DARE (through the Nash County Sheriff’s Department) will have their graduation starting at 1:30pm in the gym. It was originally scheduled for the morning, but it had to be changed to 1:30pm. We would love to have our 5th grade parents come out and support our students.
This week, our students will participate in classroom celebrations, and we’ll have a schoolwide singalong on Friday. If your child is unable to take part in Christmas activities, please inform their teacher. We want to ensure everyone’s beliefs and preferences are respected.
Lastly, please remember that students may dress up this week if they would like to help kick off the holiday season:
Monday- Team Santa (wear red) vs. Grinch (wear green)
Tuesday- Shine Bright... wear something with lights
Wednesday- Tacky Sweater
Thursday- Pre-K: Elves, K: Presents, 1st: Snowmen, 2nd: Trees, 3rd: Gingerbread, 4th: Grinch- Whoville, 5th: Reindeer
Friday- Pajama Day
I look forward to a wonderful week. Please note that after this week, students will be out starting December 23rd and students will return to school Monday, January 6th. I hope everyone has a great evening.

Good Evening Bulldogs,
We only have 10 more school days before our next long break including early release this week on Wednesday. Parents, please remember this Wednesday our students get out 2 hours early, which is 1:00pm.
This Thursday our 1st and 2nd graders have their performance starting at 6pm. We ask that all students are at school by 5:45pm.
Our students last day of school before Winter break is Friday, December 20th. This day is a full day. Our students will return from break on Monday, January 6th. Please make sure to check January’s calendar as it is unique this year with the end of the first semester and high school testing being mid-January instead of the end of December like years in the past. This is causing all schools to have workdays mid-January.
I hope everyone has a great evening.

Good afternoon bulldog families! This is a reminder that this Friday, December 6 is Hat Day at Coopers Elementary! For just a $1.00 donation, your child can wear their favorite hat and help support our Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) Team. Funds raised go directly towards exciting student incentives and celebrations here on campus, like our CHAMPS Store that is now open and quite the spot to spend those Rooms points!
So far this year, we have raised $471.00 with our two hat days! This is amazing! This Friday, let's try to add another $200.00 to that total, bulldogs! Thank you for your continued support of our students and staff.

BUS 242 does NOT have a driver for Wednesday this week, AM or PM.
BUS 71 does not have a driver for Thursday PM.
Please make arrangements to transport your children. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Good Evening Bulldogs,
I hope each and everyone one of you have enjoyed this long Thanksgiving Break. I know I sure did. My family spent the holiday relaxing, eating good food, fellowshipping, and hunting.
Now, it is time to get back to business. We only have 15 school days before the next holiday break. We need to stay focus and work hard each and every day so that we can all be successful at the end of the school year!
This week our 4th and 5th grade students will take the Panorama Survey. Parents, please reach out to the school before Monday afternoon if you do not want your child to take the survey. It is a generic survey about the school and it does not use students’ names on the survey, it is anonymous. This is a district survey.
This week, First Priority is starting back up for our students who want to participate. It will be every Wednesday from here until the end of the school year on Wednesday mornings starting at 7:20am in the library.
Last but not least, our Spelling Bee is this Friday. More information will be sent home with the students who will be participating. Good luck to all of our classroom winners!
Again, I hope everyone had a wonderful break and I look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow morning. Stay warm and take care.

Good Evening Bulldogs!
It’s been another fantastic week as a Bulldog! Next week will be a short one, with students attending only on Monday and Tuesday. They’ll be off for the holiday from Wednesday through Friday.
I hope everyone has a fantastic week, enjoys quality time with family, and gets some well-deserved rest.
Take care.

Good afternoon. Transportation has informed us that Bus #71 will now be Bus #348. If you are a Bus 71 rider, please look for Bus #348 from now on. Thank you!

Good Evening Bulldogs,
I hope everyone has had a restful weekend and that our students are ready to get back to learning.
This week a dental bus will be on site for the parents who opted their children in to have their teeth checked. This will take place during the students’ enhancement time and not their CORE instruction.
This week, on Tuesday, we also have our Candyman Main Event. Students who sold enough items will be able to attend. Please make sure students wear comfortable clothing this day. Also, on Tuesday, our Candyman items will be delivered to school. Parents, please come to the school to pick up your child’s Candyman order between the times of 3:30-5:30pm on Tuesday. Please report straight to the gym. We ask that parents try their absolute best to pick up Candyman orders during this timeframe because the Nash County Parks and Rec uses our gym nightly. We do not want orders to get mixed up or go missing. If you have a child that is a car rider, please swing by the gym and pick the order up before leaving campus. You will receive a copy of the order form so grandparents or whoever is in the carline can pick up the items for you.
Last but not least, this is a reminder that our students attend school all of this week and then two days the following week. Students are out for the holiday starting on Wednesday November 27th.
I hope everyone has a wonderful evening and I look forward to seeing everyone in the morning.
