Good evening, Eagle Families!
This is Principal McGeachy with this week’s updates on a Super Bowl Sunday.
Valentine’s Day is Wednesday, and our scholars have been posting messages around the school stating why they love being at the Early College High School. Reading such positive and encouraging messages from our young people has been uplifting for me and the staff.
As a reminder, the Class of 2024 will also be sponsoring a Valentine’s Dance on Saturday, February 17th. Ticket sales will continue this week, and this dance is for Early College scholars only. Proceeds will be used to support the Senior Trip.
Our National Honor Society Scholars will also sponsor a fundraiser to support their volunteer efforts in our community. Mark your calendars for February 20th, as we will host a School Spirit Night at the Zaxby’s in Nashville. The event will begin at 5 p.m., and a percentage of sales will go to our NHS Scholars.
Lastly, here's a reminder about Model Release forms. Currently, approximately 35% of our scholars have the form on file. Submitting the form is voluntary, but it is required in order for us to post pictures or videos online that contain the scholar’s image. If you are unsure about the status of your scholar’s Model Release form, please contact their AVID teacher.
As always, thanks for your support, and I encourage you to visit our web page for updated information pertaining to our school. Enjoy your evening, and enjoy the game!

Eagles, it's time for the Early College talent show! Can you sing? Dance? Play an instrument? Have a talent you want to share? If you do then register to be a contestant! This is going to be an awesome event! 🦅💙 The talent show supports the SGA! Flyers are attached for more information.

Good afternoon, Parents/Guardians:
Nash County Public Schools (NCPS) will conduct an important Mass Communication Test on Friday, February 9, 2024. This test aims to verify the effectiveness and efficiency of our communication systems, ensuring that we can reach all members of our school community promptly in critical situations.
This test will involve each school in our district. For parents and guardians with contact information linked to their child's school records, please anticipate receiving notifications via text messages, voice calls, and emails.
This initiative is crucial for confirming that our lines of communication are fully operational and that you are kept informed about your child's safety and school events.
If your email or phone number fails during our test, please be advised that your child's school will attempt to contact you through alternative means. This may include sending a letter home with your child or employing another communication method over the following four weeks.
We also want to remind you of the importance of keeping your contact information current in our system. You can review and update your child's details anytime through the PowerSchool Parent Portal, or contact your child's school. It is not uncommon for contact information to be incorrect by just a single digit, yet accurate details are crucial for ensuring that we can reach all parents and guardians effectively.
Thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to the well-being of our students and the broader school community.
Thank you,
Nash County Public Schools

Good evening, Eagle Families!
This is Principal McGeachy. Believe it or not, we are about to close out the month of January! Here are this week’s updates:
- Beginning tomorrow, notifications will be sent via Thrillshare whenever a scholar is tardy to class or late arriving to school. This aligns with the district’s new policy, which assigns consequences for excessive tardies that are not excused. Examples of excused tardies include arriving late from a doctor’s appointment or late bus arrivals. Classroom teachers will address this policy with scholars throughout the week. Notifications for class absences will also continue through Thrillshare. Please feel free to contact me if you have questions.
- Our second Grad Bash Information session will be held on Jan. 30th at 6 p.m. in the Science & Technology Building Auditorium. This information session is for those Class of 2024 scholars traveling to Universal Studios (Florida) in April.
- Speaking of the Class of 2024, this is an exciting time of the year because acceptance letters from colleges and universities are starting to come in. We share that excitement with scholars and their families, and we are so proud of them. Scholars on our School Communications Team will soon begin sharing the specifics of college acceptances on our school website so that we can collectively celebrate our scholars' successes.
- The Class of 2024 will sponsor a Valentine's Dance on February 17th, and tickets will go on sale this week. This dance is for ECHS scholars only, and proceeds will go towards the Senior Trip.
- Lastly, Progress Reports for the 3rd Term will be available on Friday, Feb. 2nd , in PowerSchool.
As always, thanks for your support, and I encourage you to visit our web page for updated information pertaining to our school.
